Our shop helps fund the refuge and pay for the daily running costs. It also funds the ongoing costs of any equine that we take on. Every animal that we put out on loan will be supported for life.  All of your donations and purchases are funding the animals we look after and will help pay for the rescue of more animals in the future.

    French Law and charity inheritance.

Associations and charities can not inherit property unless they up their game. Everything nowadays is about who gets their cut and it is forbidden to open a charity shop in France if you have an income of less than 45,000 euros per year you have over 200 members and you are approved as an association of public interest.

As we get older we realise that immortality does not belong to us any more, and we are obliged to focus on the inevitable. Epona can survive without me at the helm, but it can`t survive without its home , and here in France associations and charities can not inherit property unless they have an income of more than 45,000 euros per year and have over 200 members, and to top it off, you have to be approved as an association of public interest.

Associations can not open a charity shop or sell unlimited items on line, but we can set up a philanthropic trust to bypass some of the bureaucracy. We need to raise quite a lot of money to do this so I am selling off some of my inheritance.

Everything nowadays is about who gets their cut, so, if you like our items please share it with all your friends and family and you can help us avoid high auction and website charges. we are happy to send more photos and info if required.
